World Children’s Day celebrated in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Oct 6, 2020 (BSS) – The World Children’s Day and Child Rights Week-2020 was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe on Monday aimed at raising awareness of the rights and needs of the children.
The theme of this year’s day is ‘Shishur Sathe Shishur Tore, Bishwo Gori Notun Kore’.
Marking the day and the week, district administration and Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) jointly organized a discussion at the hall room of Govt Shishu Paribar (Boys) at Professor Colony of the town.
Additional deputy commissioner (general) Alamgir Kabir Saikot spoke it as the chief guest with assistant director of department of social services Kamrul Islam in the chair.
Deputy Superintendent of the Shishu Paribar Sumon Sarker made a welcome speech marking the day.
The speakers in their speeches emphasized for making turning the children into worthy citizen of the country to build a good nation.
The chief guest urged all to play their respective roles in ensuring rights of the children and helping flourish their inner potentials in a friendly atmosphere.
A large number of inmates of the paribar and the officials of BSA, invited persons including journalists took part in the programme.
