World Teachers’ Day tomorrow

DHAKA, Oct 4, 2020 (BSS) – The World Teachers’ Day will be observed in the country tomorrow through various programmes as elsewhere across the globe.

With the theme “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future”, the Education Ministry, the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and a2i of the ICT Division jointly have taken up various programmes, including seminars and cultural events, to observe the World Teachers’ Day-2020 and “Mujib Year”, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a press release.

Marking the day, a virtual seminar will be held at 4pm tomorrow and Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni is expected to address the seminar as the chief guest.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury will address the seminar as the special guest with Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Director General Professor Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk in the chair.

According to the press release, more than 18 seminars, five cultural events and seven sideline programmes will be organised marking the day while eminent teachers and education officials from home and abroad as well as national and international development partners will join the events.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary, teachers from 100 countries will join the events to be held marking the World Teachers’ Day this year.
