MC College Gang Rape: 2 more accused make confessional statements
SYLHET, Oct 4, 2020 (BSS) – Two more named accused in the case filed over the gang rape of a woman at Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet made confessional statements today under section 164 before a court here.
Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman recorded confessional statements of Tarekul Islam Tarek, 25, while Metropolitan Magistrate Saifur Rahman recorded confessional statements of Mahfuzur Rahman Masum, 25, said Sylhet Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (AC-Prosecution) Amulya Kumar Chowdhury.
Later, the court sent them to jail.
Earlier, three more accused gave their statements before the court on Saturday and three others on Friday.
A woman was gang-raped in Sylhet MC College hostel area on September 25. The victim’s husband filed a case on Saturday (September 26) against nine people with Shah Poran police station in this connection.
