Former DRU general secretary Kabir Ahmed’s father passes away
DHAKA, Oct 04, 2020 (BSS) – Abdul Khaleque Khan, father of former Dhaka
Reporters Unity (DRU) General Secretary and Senior Reporter of Bangladesh
Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Kabir Ahmed Khan, passed away on Saturday night.
He breathed his last due to old-age complications at a city hospital at the
age of 93, said a press release.
Abdul Khaleque, former assistant thana education officer, left behind his
wife, seven sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to
mourn his death.
He was buried in his family graveyard in Trishal of Mymensingh district,
after his namaz-e-janaza on the Sankibhanga Jam-e-Mosque premises.
Md Ashraful Alam Khokan, deputy press secretary-1 to the Prime Minister was
present, among others, in the namaz-e-janaza of the deceased.
In a condolence message, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud
expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Abdul Khaleque. He prayed for
the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the
bereaved family members.
DRU president Rafiqul Islam Azad and General Secretary Reaz Chowdhury also
expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Abdul Khaleque. They prayed
for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the
