SC judges recall Mahbubey Alam’s contribution to judiciary
DHAKA, Oct 03, 2020 (BSS) – The members of Supreme Court (SC) Judges Committee at a meeting today recalled the outstanding contribution of late attorney general (AG) and senior lawyer Mahbubey Alam in establishing the rule of law and justice in the country.
They said Alam, as Bangladesh government’s chief legal adviser, played a very significant role at different times favouring the SC’s steps for establishing the rule of law and justice.
SC spokesman and special officer Mohammad Saifur Rahman told this today after the meeting.
The Supreme Court Judges Committee mentioned the issue during a virtual meeting on celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, with Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain in the chair.
The spokesman said Justice Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Justice Obaidul Hasan, Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Justice Krishna Debnath, Justice Jahangir Hossain, Justice JBM Hasan, Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Shahinur Islam took part in the meeting.
The meeting unanimously passed a condolence motion on the death of Mahbubey Alam.
