27 journo receive PM’s financial support in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI, Oct 3, 2020 (BSS)- Twenty seven journalists of different media outlets of the district received Prime Minister’s financial assistance today to cope with the adverse impact of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic .
Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust (BJWT) with the co-operation of Narsingdi Press Club organized the cheque distribution ceremony at the conference hall of Narsingdi Shishu Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Syeda Farhana Kawnine attended the function as as chief guest while President of Narsingdi Press club Makhan Das presided over and its General Secretary Mazaharul Parvez conducted .
Each journalist of Narsingdi district received a cheque amounting to TK 10,000.
President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Mollah Jalal, Superintendent of Police Narsingdi Proloy Kumar Jowardar , General Secretary of National Press club Farida Yasmin, Chairman of Zila Parishad, Narsingdi Abdul Motin Bhuyian, Secretary General of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Shaban Mahmud and Joint Secretary ,National Press club Shahed Choudhury also spoke on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner in her speech said Sheikh Hasina is media- friendly and she has brought most of the professional bodies including journalists under financial support as a part of her relentless efforts to deal with the pandemic situation.
Addressing the meeting, Mollah Jalal said all the journalists should be united on the issues of Bangabandhu and Bangladesh.
He urged the journalists to highlight the development successes of the present government through their objective reporting.
