Sujan visits Korotoa river erosion sites
PANCHAGARH, Oct , 3, 2020(BSS)- Railways Minister Md, Nurul Islam Sujon visited erosion sites of the river Korotoa at Saldanga Dulajari area under Debiganj upazila of the district today .
During the visit, the minister asked the Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), Panchagarh for immediate submission of a revised Development Project Proposal (DPP) to protect the erosion , took place due to flood and heavy rain in both sides of Korotoa river.
Chief Engineer of BWDB Foyezur Rahman briefed the minister that huge inhabitants of Tapriganj and Saldanga unions have been displaced in the river erosion and if it continues even Dulajari road is feared to have been devoured soon.
The Minister also visited the damaged Tistarhat to vajni paka road and ordered LGED Department to repair the road immediately.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Panchagarh Sabina Yeasmin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debiganj Prottoy Hasan, Upazila Engineer Mominul Houque , Upazila Awami League President And General Secretary Gias Uddin Chowdary and Hasnat Zaman Chowdary were among other accompanied the minister .
