Tajul stress on proper plan for a healthy sanitation system

DHAKA, Oct 1, 2020(BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister M Tajul Islam has called upon all concerned including city corporations, urban planners, NGOs and development partners to adopt the right plan to ensure healthy a sanitation system.

“The number of latrine users at the village, union and upazila levels has increased tremendously as a result of the sanitation movement. The number of people is increasing day by day due to urbanization. We will never be safe if we do not ensure a healthy sanitation system,” he said.

He made the call while addressing the inaugural function of the National Sanitation Month at the Department of Public Health Engineering here, said a press release.

To ensure improved sanitation, National Sanitation Month October 2020 with the slogan ‘Build a Corona Virus Free Life’ started from today.

Tajul said, all kinds of garbage starting from human waste should be dumped in designated places without leaving it everywhere. The environment belongs to everyone so environmental disaster can never be allowed to happen, he added.

He said that many diseases are transmitted to the body through hands and urged everyone to wash their hands regularly. He advised to be economical in using water and electricity.
