CPA’s cooperation to bolster JS activities in Bangladesh: Speaker
DHAKA, Oct 01, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said the overall cooperation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) in the transition to parliamentary democracy would strengthen the functioning of the JS.
She came up with the remarks while exchanging views with Stephen Twigg, CPA Secretary General as the latter joined a virtual meeting with her from CPA headquarters, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed the mutual cooperation between the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad and CPA, the participation of JS lawmakers in various workshops and seminars of the CPA and the Rohingya issue.
CPA Secretary General Stephen Twigg praised Bangladesh for providing shelter to the Rohingyas by opening the door to humanity and assured overall cooperation in the peaceful repatriation of Rohingyas.
