PANCHAGARH. Oct, 1. 2020 (BSS)- Commerce Minister Nurul Majid Mahamud Huymaun today said that a urea fertilizer buffer go down would gradually be established in all district for speedy reaching of fertilizer to the doorsteps of the farmers .
The minister said Bangladesh is dependent on agriculture and present government has relentlessly been striving to set up agriculture based industries for generating vast employment opportunity in the country.
The Commerce Minister said this at a discussion meeting at go down premises in Boda upazila of the district as chief guest.
He said adequate fertilizer will be preserved in the go down and directly distributed among the farmers through dealers for keeping their interest .
The newly go down was built with capacity of 10,000 tons of fertilizer under the auspices of Sena Kallyan Sangstha at a cost of TK 27 corer 50 thousand .
Organized by district administration, the function was addressed among others by Mojaharul Hoque Prodhan MP Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Mostafizur Rahman, Zila Parishad Chairman Anowar Sadat Samrat while Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Panchagarh Sabina Yeasmin presided over the function.
Earlier, the commerce Minister and Railways Minister Md, Nurul Islam Sujon have jointly inaugurated the newly built fertilizer buffer go down .
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujon addressed the function as special guest.
In his speech Sujon said the government has also been relentlessly working to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
Listing out various development works of the government particularly in railway sector, the railways Minister said, the train communications between Rajshahi and Panchagarh will be inaugurated on October 15.
