Met office predicts rainfall with thundershowers

DHAKA, Oct 01, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius at Tangail and today’s lowest temperature 24.4 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 55 millimeters (mm) at Mymensingh.

The sun sets at 5:45 pm today and rises at 5:51 am tomorrow in the capital.
