SS Haldar was honest, dedicated political leader: Rezaul
PIROJPUR, Sept 29, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM
Rezaul Karim today said noted politician, freedom fighter and former lawmaker
Sudhanshu Shekhar Haldar, better known as SS Haldar, was a fearless,
uncompromising, honest and dedicated political leader.
“He was fearless, uncompromising, honest and dedicated political leader
imbued with the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman,” he said while addressing a virtual memorial meeting as the chief
guest marking the 16th death anniversary of Sudhanshu Shekhar here.
Pirojpur District Puja Udjapan Parishad and Sudhanshu Shekhar Haldar
Smrity Parishad jointly organized the memorial meeting on the central
Kalibari premises in Pirojpur with Puja Udyapan Parishad’s district president
Bimal Mandal in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain and Superintendent of
Police Md Hayatul Islam Khan spoke as the special guests.
Sudhanshu was elected as lawmaker twice and during his tenure corruption
never touched him, the minister said.
District Puja Udjapan Parishad General Secretary Gopal Basu, District
Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Gautam Chowdhury, Former
District Commander of Muktijoddha Sangsad Sameer Kumar Das, District Awami
Secha Sebok League Convener Shafiul Haque Mithu, District Puja Parishad Vice
President Prabir Mandal, Deputy General Secretary Chandra Shekhar and Sadar
Upazila Puja Udyapan Parishad President Gopal Pal also spoke, among others,
on the occasion.
