1 trucker held with phensedyl in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -13 arrested a truck driver with 395 bottles of contraband phensedyl from a limestone-laden truck from Rashidpur village of Mithapukur upazila of the district last night.
“An operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 on suspicion searched the truck at the area on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway and arrested the alleged drug peddler with the drugs and other goods,” a RAB press release said this evening.
The elite force also seized two mobile phone sets, four SIM cards and TK 13,000 cash apparently earned from selling drugs from the possession of the arrestee .
The arrested is the driver of the seized truck Md. Rezaul Karim, 40, son of late Majibar Rahman of village Purbo Kaliganj in Jaldhaka upazila of Nilphamari district.
In the preliminary interrogation, the arrested person confessed that he purchased the smuggled phensedyl from Joynagar frontier area in Birampur upazila of Dinajpur and was carrying those to Tangail for selling there.
RAB handed over the arrested drug trader to Mithapukur police station of Rangpur today and a case was filed in this connection.
