85 held and huge narcotics recovered in city
DHAKA, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – Police have arrested 85 people and recovered different kinds of narcotics while conducting anti-narcotics drives at different parts of the city in the last 24 hours ended this morning.
“Police have arrested those accused on charges of selling and using drugs when members of different police stations and detective branch (DB) were carried out overnight drives in different city areas till 6am today,” a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) statement said.
A total of 53 cases have been filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
During the drives, police recovered 2,930 pieces of Yaba tablets, 36.550 grams heroin, 36.285 kgs cannabis, 100 bottles of phensidyl and over 12liters of local liquor from their possession, the statement added.
