JS body for selling Milkvita products through TCB
DHAKA, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on
Public Undertakings today suggested the ministry taking necessary steps for
the sale of food or products produced by Bangladesh Milk Producers’
Cooperative Union Limited (Milkvita) through Trading Corporation of
Bangladesh (TCB).
The recommendation was made at the 9th meeting of the committee held at
the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its Chairman ASM Feroz in the chair, said
a press release.
Committee members Mostafizur Rahman, Md Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Mohibur
Rahman Manik attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, members of the committee cut a cake
marking the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and wished her long
life and good health.
At the meeting, the committee made recommendations for increasing the
manpower of TCB, taking strict action against institutional corruption and
increasing the emergency reserve capacity.
The committee recommended the ministry for taking steps to sell goods by
truck on every Friday and Saturday as per other days of the week as per
consumer demand.
During the meeting, the committee recommended to the ministry to take
necessary steps for the sale of food or products produced by Milkvita through
TCB.
Commerce Secretary Dr Md Jafar Uddin and concerned officials, among
others, were present on the occasion.
