Palak plants saplings on Parliament premises
DHAKA, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today planted saplings on the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises.
Noting that Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world due to global climate change, Palak said the importance of trees is immense in having a positive impact on climate change.
At this time, he highlighted the steps taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the Covid-19 pandemic to keep the country’s economy afloat, including education and health care.
As part of the programme of planting one crore saplings announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary, saplings of various trees are being planted in the Parliament building area at the initiative of the Speaker of Parliament.
Among others, officials concerned and employees of the Secretariat of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad and PWD were present at the tree plantation programme.
