9 drug traders jailed in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – A mobile court here on Sunday jailed nine drug traders for keeping fake medicine at Argara Bazar under on Sunday Shibganj upazila of the district.
The mobile court also realised Taka 34,000 from them as fine and deposited the money with the government treasury.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) sources said, a mobile court of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp with executive magistrate Md. Saiful Islam and assistant director of drug administration Fuara Yasmin conducted a raid in different medicine shops at Argara Bazar under Shibganj upazila in the district from 3 pm till 5:30 pm and seized the fake medicine of 31 brands.
At this, the mobile court awarded one month’s imprisonment to eight persons and fined each of them of Taka 3,000. The mobile court sentenced another person to 40 days imprisonment and fined him of Taka 10,000.
Later, they were sent to the jail custody, the sources added.
