Two held over MC College gang rape
SYLHET, Sept 27, 2020 (BSS) – Police have arrested two people including the prime accused Saifur Rahman in a case filed over the gang rape that occurred in Sylhet Murari Chand (MC) College premises on Friday.
Chhatak Thana police arrested Saifur this morning from Chhatak Khayaghat area in Sunamganj district. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhatak Thana Mizanur Rahman confirmed.
Besides, Detective Branch (DB) of police held another accused Arjun Lashker in this case from Montola area under Madhobpur upazila of the district around 6 am today.
Saifur is an inhabitant of Balaganj and Arjun is a resident of Zakiganj upazila in Sylhet.
Police said Arjun fled to Madhobpur after the incident and got shelter at his relative’s house there. The DB police conducted a raid in the Montola area through mobile tracking and nabbed him.
Earlier, the victim’s husband filed a case on Friday with Shah Poran Thana against six accused, the OC added.
