26 more tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 27, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 26 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 393 samples at five COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 21 are from Chattogram city and five from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 18,639 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the total infected people, 13,154 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,468 are the inhabitants of different upazilas of the district.

Besides, 1,391 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 14,702 have recovered and 287 died while the rest 2,259 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district, Dr Rabbi added.

“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” the health official continued.

“The percentage of recovery rate stands at 79.17 percent in the district,” he further said.
