Corrupt officials get no exemption -Farhad

KHULNA, Sept 27, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain on Sunday (today) asserted that any person including government official would not get exemption who are found involved in corruption.

Farhad said one of the basic objectives of election manifesto of Awami League (AL) was ‘zero tolerance policy’ against misdeed and corruption to establish rule of law and good governance and present government has been striving hard to stamp out corruption from all spheres of national life.

The minister made this comment while inaugurating construction works of Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s office building and an auditorium at Boyra area in the city as chief guest.

He said the government is no way entertaining corruption, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina strongly stood against all kinds of corruption as the government must not destroy the development spree for a few corrupt men.

Referring to the massive uplift programme of southern regions Farhad said government has taken initiative to build Khulna as a model division and it is rapidly changing as per directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ,” he said.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader presided over the meeting while Khulna City Mayor Talukder abdul Khaleque and Public Administration Secretary Sheikh Yousuf Harun, addressed as special guests.

Superintending Engineer of Khulna Public Works (PWD) circle and Project Director Sati Nath Basak said Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office Building and Auditorium are being constructed at a cost of TK 139.45 crore.

The iconic and aesthetic 10 storied office building along with a basement and the two storied modern auditorium with capacity of one thousand spectators will be constructed with a power sub-station , 555 tons air cooler, solar power and fire fighting extinguisher.

Later, the state minister exchanged views with officials of administrative cadre in Khulna division at the divisional commissioner’s conference room.

Earlier, the Minister planted a sapling at Khulna circuit House Premises as part of the 19.20 lakh tree sapling plantation under the Green Belt Phase -2 project.
