SC suspends lawyer Yunus Ali for posting derogatory remark on facebook
DHAKA, Sep 27, 2020 (BSS) – The Supreme Court (SC) has suspended its
lawyer Yunus Ali Akond temporarily for posting derogatory comments about the
judiciary on his personal Facebook account recently.
The apex court directed Yunus Ali not to practice law before the Appellate
and High Court Divisions of the SC for two weeks.
An Appellate Division bench, led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, on
Sunday asked him to appear on October 12 for explanation.
Additional Attorney General Murad Reza brought the matter to the notice of
the court.
The SC directed the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission
(BTRC) to block the Facebook account of Yunus Ali after removing the
derogatory comment.
