43 more tested positive for COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 26, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 43 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 713 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories in the district.

Among the newly detected patients, 33 are from Chattogram city and 10 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

The total number of infected patients now stands at 18,613 in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the total infected persons, 13,133 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5,463 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

Besides, 1,407 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 14,642 have recovered and 284 died while the rest 2,280 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district, Dr Fazle Rabbi said.

“The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” he said.

“The percentage of recovery rate stands at 78.72 percent in the district,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, added.
