Contribution of Liberation War organiser Fazlur Rahman Khan recalled

NETRAKONA, Sept 26, 2020 (BSS) – Speakers at a memorial meeting here today recalled the outstanding contributions of Fazlur Rahman Khan, an organiser of Liberation War, former lawmaker and ex-president of district Awami League (AL), in the field of the country’s political arena and war of independence.

Paying glowing tributes to the memories of the valiant freedom fighter, the speakers said Fazlur Rahman was a dedicated and honest political leader. He won the hearts of the people and always worked for their welfare, for this reason he remained as the president of AL, Netrakona district unit for consecutive 28 years and he was elected parliament member for three times. He played an important role in the liberation war.

Fazlur Rahman Khan Memorial Meeting Holding Committee (MMHC) organised the memorial meeting marking the 12th death anniversary of the dedicated political leader.

Habiba Rahman Khan Shefali MP addressed the meeting as the chief guest while MMHC principal Golam Rasul Talukder was in the chair.

The meeting was addressed, among others, by chairman of Netrakona Zila parishad Prasanta Kumar Ray, mayor of Netrakona municipality Nazrul Islam Khan, chairman of Barhatta upazila parishad Mainul Haque Kasem, freedom fighter Muzammel Haque Bacchu, president of District Bar Association Advocate Sitangsu Bikash Acheryo, joint secretary of district Awami League Nur Khan Mitu and president of district Krishak League Kashob Ranjan Sarker.
