2 held with 18,540 pieces of yaba tablets in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Sept 26, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested two alleged drug traders including a woman with 18,540 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Bypass road area under Patiya upazila of the district early today.
The arrested were identified as Sumi Akter, 20, daughter of Imam Hossain hailed from Chandpur district and Ismail Hossain Sajib, 21, son of Anisur Rahman, a resident of Barguna district.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force intercepted a Chattogram-bound passenger bus coming from Cox’s Bazar around 4.30 am in Bypass road area and arrested the duo with the yaba tablets, Mahamudul Hasan, assistant director of RAB media, told BSS.
A case was lodged with Patiya police station and the arrested persons along with the contraband items were handed over to the police.
