RAJSHAHI, July 2, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Joint Secretary
Jahangir Kabir Nanak urged party leaders and workers to put in their level
best efforts to make AL candidate winner in the forthcoming mayoral election
of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).
He urged them to mitigate all sorts of their internal feuds if there any
at ones and start work for the party candidate AHM Khairuzzaman Liton from
now on as there is no alternative to it.
He was addressing a discussion at Rajshahi Medical College Auditorium in
the city today as the chief guest.
Local unit of the party organised the meeting marking the 69th founding
anniversary of the party.
Chaired by district unit president Omor Faruque Chowdhury, MP, the
meeting was addressed, among others, by AL Organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud
Chowdhury, city unit president AHM Khairuzzman Liton, Central member Nurul
Islam Thandu, Abdul Wadud Dara, MP, Engineer Enamul Haque, MP, Akhter Jahan,
MP, Zila Parishad Chairman Muhammad Ali Sarker and Katakhali Pourasava Mayor
Abbas Ali.
Nanak said the party leaders and workers must be united to attain success
in the election. He told the meeting that the BNP-Jamaat axis has been
hatching deep rooted conspiracy to defeat the AL candidate. But, they will
not get the chance of materialising their dream.
“We want to see the victory of boat, election symbol of AL, in the
upcoming election,” he said, adding that victory of AL candidate is the
precondition of development.
