CHATTOGRAM, Sept 23, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug traders with 38,640 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Shikolbaha area under Karnaphuli thana in the city early today.

The elite forces also detained a truck in this connection.

The arrested were identified as Habibur Rahman, 63, son of Akram Ali Khan, hailed from Munshiganj district and Arif Ullah,19, son of Abdur Rahim, hailed from Cox’s Bazar district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-7 conducted a raid in the Shikolbaha area around 2.30 am and nabbed Habibur and Arif,Masukur Rahman, assistant director media, told BSS.

The elite force recovered 38,640 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from their possession and detained a truck carrying the drugs, he added.

A case was lodged with Karnaphuli thana and the arrested persons along with the contraband items were handed over to the police.
