Four fined Tk 2.60 lakh for using gas illegally in Feni
DHAKA, Sept 22, 2020 (BSS) – A mobile court fined four customers Tk 2.60 lakh for using gas illegally in Feni this morning.
The mobile court led by Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Moumita Das also cut off gas connections of 11 establishments,
Including BSCIC (Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation).
The executive magistrate said at the beginning of the operation, three customers were fined a total of Tk 180,000 for using illegal gas connections in Poshchim Silonia area under Lalpul upazila of the district.
The mobile court fined Aklima Akhter Tk 30,000, Nazma Akhter Tk 50,000 and Sajeda Akhter Tk 1 lakh for using illegal gas connections.
The mobile court also disconnected gas from 10 establishments.
Later, the mobile court raided the BSCIC area of Feni. During the drive, a fine of Tk 80,000 was imposed on Hira Sweets and Confectionery.
The mobile court also imposed a fine of Tk 60,000 on the same company under the Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 for preparing food items in unhygienic environment.
Among others, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited Feni Area Office Manager Sahabuddin, Assistant Engineer Kamrul Islam and members of law enforcement took part in the operation.
