Charge-sheet filed against 6 in PMO document forgery case

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2020 (BSS) – Police today filed charge-sheet against six persons including former Chhatra League central committee leader Tarikul Islam Momin in a case lodged over forgery of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) document.

The charge-sheeted accused are- Momin, PMO staff Fatema Khatun, Nazim Uddin, Rubel, North-South University student Forhad Hossain and former treasurer of Bangladesh University of Professionals’ retired Air Commodore M Abdus Salam Azad.

Investigation officer (IO) and Tejgaon Police Station inspector Mohammad Kamal Uddin filed the charge-sheet with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court and accepting a plea of the IO, the court later issued warrant to arrest M Abdus Salam Azad, who is still on run.

Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, director-7 of PMO, on May 5 filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station.

PMO staff Fatema has already given a confessional statement on May 10, saying she brought out a confidential file from PMO and handed that over to Farhad, an associate of Mumin, who had changed the prime minister’s decision through forgery.
