CID arrests 8 suspended Titas officials over Narayanganj blast
NARAYANGANJ, Sep 19, 2020 (BSS) – Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police today arrested eight suspended officers and workers of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited over Bitus Salat mosque blast in the district on September 4.
CID, Narayanganj, said this in press conference at the district Police Super’s office this noon.
The arrestees are Manager in Fatullah zone Md Sirajul Islam, Deputy Manager Engineer Mahamudur Rahman Rabbi, Assistant Engineer SM Hasan Shahriar, Assistant Engineer Manik Mia, Supervisor Munibur Rahman Chowdhury, workers Md Ayub Ali, Md Hanif Mia and Md Ismail Prodhan.
“They were arrested on basis of evidence of negligence,” said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of CID Mainul Hasan.
The Titas officials and workers were arrested from different areas in Fatullah in the district. The mosque blast claimed 32 lives so far.
