Biman to resume flight to Saudi Arabia soon after getting approval

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2020 (BSS) – Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume flight operation to Saudi Arabia as soon as it will get approval from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has announced resumption of international flight operation under certain conditions but yet to give approval to start the flights to/from Bangladesh, a Biman press release said here today.

The national flag carrier said the airlines will inform its passengers the flight schedule to Saudi Arabia as soon as it will get approval from the Saudi authority in this regard.

Biman used to operate 21 weekly flights to four Saudi Arabia destinations – Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah – from Dhaka and Chattogram before suspension of its operation five months back for containment of COVID-19 pandemic.

In a circular, the GACA said valid visa or valid iqama holders can travel to and from Saudi Arabia.

It said the passengers are not allowed to board flight unless they provide a negative result (PCR) test from a verified laboratory and it must be done not later than 48 hours before arriving to the kingdom.
