DHAKA, Sept 17, 2020 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) general secretary Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal said the federation has plans to arrange the national archery championship in December.

“We have planned to arrange the national archery championship in December though it is not final because the COVID-19 situation is still not normal….. if everything goes smooth at that time, then we’ll arrange the national competition,” said Chapal to BSS today.

Chapal also informed that they have no plan to arrange any international event this year due to COVID-19 situation and the federation has no plan to send a team abroad.

Due to COVID-19 situation all the international events scheduled to be arranged by the archery federation have been shifted to next year, he added.

Meanwhile, seven-member last batch archers will join the national archery team’s ongoing camp in week in Shaheed Asan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi. At present eighteen male and female archers are undergoing training under the supervision of head coach Martin Fredric, Chapal said.

The seven archers will have to go through COVID-19 test before joining the camp, he added.
