Police stations to be monitored through CCTV in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Sept 16, 2020 (BSS)- All the eight police stations in Rajshahi district have been brought under monitoring system through close circuit camera television (CCTV) aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the police services.

The monitoring system has been launched through installation of CCTV connecting the police stations with the office of Superintendent of Police (SP).

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in Rajshahi Range Abdul Baten opened the modern information and communication technology system at the SP office in Rajshahi Tuesday afternoon.

Additional DiG Mozahidul Islam, SP Muhammad Shahidullah, Range SPs Abdus Salam and Monirul Islam, Commandant of In-service Police Training Centre Tariqul Islam and Additional SP Ifte Khayer Alam were present on the occasion.

A total of 64 IP Cameras were installed in the eight police stations, while the monitoring displays system at the SP office.

With this breakthrough, monitoring activities in the police stations will be easier coupled with infusing dynamism into the activities.

As a whole, necessary instant direction can be given which will expedite the technology-based modern police system, police officials said.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Abdul Baten said the modern monitoring system is likely to be launched in all other districts in the range.
