3 drug peddlers held with 27.6-kg ganja in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Sept 16, 2020 (BSS) – Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in two separate anti-crimes drives, arrested three alleged drug peddlers with 27.6 kilograms of ganja in the district last night, RAB sources said here today.
The arrested were identified as Swapan Mian, 48, son of Raoshan Ali, Amir Hossain, 39, son of late Nil Mian and Merajul Haque, 25, son of Muhammad Babu.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in the Jail crossing area in Naogaon Sadar Upazila and arrested Swapan and Amir with 26 kilograms of ganja at around 9.30 pm, RAB sources said.
Another RAB team arrested Merajul with 1.6 kilograms of ganja after conducting a raid at Chalk Kapasia area under Katakhali Police Station in the city at 8.40 pm
Later, the arrested persons along with the seized contraband goods were handed over to police.
Separate cases were filed with the respective police stations in these connections.
