Train connectivity with Sylhet resumes after 3.30 hrs

SYLHET, Sept 15, 2020 (BSS) – Rail communication with Sylhet has returned to normal with other parts of the country about three and a half hours after the derailment of a freight train.

The derailed train from Kulaura Junction in Moulvibazar removed the derailed train’s lorry at around 12:15 pm on Tuesday.

This information has been confirmed by Dulal Chandra Das, Loco Incharge of Kulaura Railway Station.

He said one of the 24 bogies of the train was derailed but the tankers were rescued and taken to 21 nearby Maizgaon railway stations.

However, after repairing the line for about an hour, the train movement became normal.

Earlier on the same day, after leaving Sylhet at 8.30 am, the freight train derailed at Kalakathi intersection in Maizgaon railway station area. The train with an empty oil tanker derailed after leaving Maizgaon railway station and going to Kalakathi area.
