DMP commissioner asks police not to tarnish image of force

DHAKA, Sept 14, 2020 (BSS) -Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam asked police force to become more cautious about their behavior so that the image of the force is not tarnished anyway.

“Be aware of your manner . . . so that the image of police force is not tarnished to anyone,” he said while speaking at the “Monthly Crime Meeting of DMP” at Rajarbagh Bangladesh Police Lines Auditorium today.

The DMP commissioner also warned of taking stern action against the police personnel who would be found linked with criminals.

He hoped that the police force would try to gain cent percent trust of mass people through carrying out the existing laws of the country.

Referring to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Shafiqul said, “In the meantime, we have overcome the Corona crisis . . . We must work in full swing right now.”

About drug-addicts, DMP chief advised his fellow colleagues to consult with the victims’ family members and send them (addicts) to the correction centres prior to taking legal action.

“Everybody has to provide all necessary supports to the drug-addicts so that they can return to their normal life,” he added.

At the meeting, the DMP commissioner handed over the prizes to the winners in various categories in recognition of their good work in the last month (August).

DMP’s additional commissioner (CTTC) Md Monirul Islam, additional police commissioner (Administration) Mir Rezaul Alam and additional police commissioner (crime and operation) Krishpad Ray, among others, were present at the meeting.
