Admission into HSC, equivalent courses begins


DHAKA, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – The process for admission into Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent courses for the next academic session began today across the country.

Dhaka Education Board Chairman Md Ziaul Haque confirmed the development, saying that the admission process will continue till September 17.

“Some 1,320,000 students, who passed SSC and its equivalent examinations this year, applied for getting admission into different colleges or institutions while we approved some 1,300,000 students for getting enrolment in the first phase,” he said.

The remaining students, who did not get any colleges or institutions, will be approved for getting admission into the vacant seats in different private colleges or institutions in the second phase, Haque said, adding the classes for HSC and equivalent courses will begin from October 4 next online.

Earlier, the students were allowed to submit their applications choosing at least five colleges or institutions online in three phases for getting admission.

A total of 1,690,523 students passed SSC and its equivalent examinations this year.
