Film Actor Farooque flies to Singapore for treatment
DHAKA, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – Prominent Film Actor and Freedom fighter Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooq, MP left for Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital this morning for better treatment.
Rakibul Hasan, DMP’s Airport Police Station constable confirmed the matter to BSS saying, “Farooque left Dhaka for Singapore on a special cargo flight from Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport at 7.45 am today with a companion.”
Farhana Farooque, wife of the ailing member of the parliament, told the newsmen that, “Due to the pandemic situation, flight of passenger aircrafts is not regular. But as his blood infection and fever did not subside, we had to send him to Singapore with this special flight on immediate basis.”
Before leaving the country, Farooque told BSS that the government is supremely aware of his treatment and has been checking on him constantly.
“I just want blessings from everyone. So that I can recover and return to human service,” he added.
Earlier on August 18, Farooque was admitted to the United Hospital in the capital.
Although various tests including corona virus were done, it was not possible to recover the cause of the illness.
He recovered and went home on August 26.
But, he was admitted to the hospital again on August 31 as his fever did not subside even after several tests came negative.
