Man held with fake Bidi band-roll in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – Police arrested a man with huge fake Bidi band-roll worth TK 9.82 lakh from Sarai Munshipara area under Haragachh Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) here on Saturday night.
“An operational team of Haragachh Thana challenged a battery-run illegal auto easy bike and arrested the man with 1.08 pieces of fake Bidi band-roll.
The team also seized the auto bike worth TK 40,000 from the spot,” a press release said here this afternoon.
The arrested person was identified as Aynul Islam, 28, of village Haragachh Purbo Podderpara under Haragachh Thana of RpMP.
The arrestee in the preliminary interrogation, confessed his involvement in selling fake Bidi band-roll in connivance with one absconding Shakil, 24, of the same village to assist local Bidi Factories in evading huge government revenues.
“Police filed a case in this connection with Haragachh thana against the two persons and produced the arrested man before a Rangpur court.
The arrested was sent to jail today,” the release said, adding that efforts were on to arrest absconding Shakil.
