India’s federal minister Suresh Angadi tests positive for COVID-19
NEW DELHI, Sept 11, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) – India’s federal Junior Minister for Railways Suresh Angadi Friday tested positive for COVID-19.
He requested his close contacts to monitor their health and undergo the test.
“I have tested COVID-19 positive today. I am doing fine. Taking the advice of doctors,” Angadi wrote on twitter. “Requesting all those who have come in close contact with me in the last few days to monitor their health and get tested in case of any symptoms.”
The 65-year-old politician is the eighth federal minister to test positive for the highly contagious disease.
The country is in the grip of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the cases are increasing with each passing day.
India, the second worst-hit country due to the pandemic, reported 96,551 new COVID-19 cases and 1,209 related deaths on Friday.
