DHAKA, Sept 10, 2020 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today asked officials to provide services to the investors of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial cities through the One Stop Service (OSS) centre.

“In 76 BSCIC industrial cities of the country, it is necessary to ensure that entrepreneurs get effective services easily and quickly at low cost. In order to increase local and foreign investment in the industrial sector, all kinds of services should be provided under the OSS center,” he said.

The Industries Minister gave the directive while inaugurating a two-day virtual training workshop on ‘Citizen Service Innovation’ for field level officers to launch one-stop service in 76 BSCIC industrial cities, said a press release.

BSCIC Director (Skills and Technology) Moha Abdus Salam presided over
the function while BSCIC Chairman Md Mostaq Hasan was the special guest.
All the industrial city officials of the country, district level officials and members of the BSCIC board were connected through online.

Praising the activities of BSCIC during the Coronavirus pandemic, Humayun said that the factories of BSCIC industrial city have been kept open following the health rules as per the 31-point directive announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the beginning of the outbreak of Coronavirus.

The Industries Minister said Corona has created opportunities for labor-intensive industries in Bangladesh. “Many foreign entrepreneurs are showing interest in investing in this country. To take advantage of this opportunity, the country must ensure world-class investment services,” he added.

He urged to find innovative strategies to provide effective one-stop services through training workshops.
