Light to moderate rain at many places
DHAKA, Sept 10, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts
of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna,
Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi
and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the
country,” said a met office release this morning.
“Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North
Bay,” said the release.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it
added.
Country’s highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.3 degrees
Celsius at Patuakhali and today’s lowest temperature was 25.0 degrees Celsius
jointly at Nikli, Sandwip and Hatiya.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 100
millimeters (mm) at Sitakunda.
The sun sets at 6.08 pm today and rises at 5.43 am tomorrow in the
capital.
