DHAKA, Sept 9, 2020 (BSS) – The General Economics Division (GED) of the Planning Commission will hold a public awareness meeting tomorrow on the “Making Vision 2041 a Reality: Perspective Plan of Bangladesh 2021-2041″.

The view exchange meeting will be held at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area tomorrow morning at 11:00 am.

Chaired and moderated by GED member of the Planning Commission Dr Shamsul Alam, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Kaikaus will remain present as special guests.

Earlier in February this year, the NEC approved the country’s second Perspective Plan for the year 2021-2041 in a bid to turn Bangladesh as a higher mid-income country by 2031 and a higher income and developed country by 2041.

The implementation of the country’s first Perspective Plan (2010-2021) is
nearing completion.

Major goals of the mega plan are to eliminate extreme poverty by 2031 and
to bring down the poverty rate at zero percent by 2041.

It also aims to ensure industrialization and structural transformation as
well as exemplary change in the agriculture sector and export-oriented
economy.
