Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Sylhet division and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at some places over the country in 24 hours till 9am tomorrow,” said a met office release this morning.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay, it said.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at Patuakhali and lowest one today was 23.5 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 113 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6.08 pm today and rises at 5.43 am tomorrow in the capital.
