Khaleque warns against intrusion of wrongdoers in the party
KHULNA, Sep 8, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Khulna City Unit President Talukder abdul Khaleque on Monday warned party leaders and workers against intrusion of wrongdoers and opportunists into the Awami League (AL), its associates and affiliating bodies.
He called upon all to remain ever alert so that no wrongdoer like identified drug traders, land grabbers, terrorists, extortionists can intrude into any committee.
He also asked for completion of Secchasebak League and Chhatra League conference in next one month.
Khulna mayor came up with the call while presiding over in an extended meeting of city unit AL at the party office in front of Saheed Hadis park .
Khaleque, also the Khulna City Mayor, asked the rank and file of the party as per central committee directives to submit full-fledged committee of all AL units and its associate bodies.
The Mayor urged the central AL leaders to form a full fledged Krishak League convening committee as its outgoing President and General Secretary has failed to form the committee in its last conference.
“We cannot let the party’s massive achievements tarnish due to misdeeds of a few persons ,” he said urging the party leaders and activist to remain alert as none can make misdeeds using the party identity.
Earlier, on Wednesday, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader instructed the district and city units of the Awami League and its associate bodies to submit their full-fledged committees within September 15 next.
The Mayor said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has taken a zero-tolerance policy against irregularities and corruption.
Conducted by general secretary ABM Babul Rana, the meeting was addressed, among others, by advocate chIsty Sohrab Hossain Shikder, Kazi Enayet Hossain, Liakat Ali Beg, Mallick Abid Hossain Kabir, Sheikh Siddiqur Rahman, advocate Rajob Ali Sarder, Nur Islam, Abul kalam azad, Shyamol Singha Roy, Munsi Mahbub Alam Sohag and panel Mayor Ali Akbor Tipu.
