CHAPAINAWABGANJ, September 7, 2020 (BSS)- Cheques of the Prime Minister’s financial help for the journalists in the on-going COVID -19 pandemic were distributed in the district this evening.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chapainawabganj AZM Nurul Hoque distributed the cheques among 41 journalists of the district.
Each journalist got a cheque amounting to TK 10,000.
Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust and Chapainawabganj district administration jointly arranged a simple function at the conference room of the DC to mark the distribution of cheque.
Chaired by the DC, the function was addressed among others by the president of Chapainawabganj Press Club Mahbubul Alam, Secretary Shahidul Huda Alok, President of Chapainawabganj City Press Club Sajedul Islam and Chapainawabganj district correspondent of BTV Imran Faruk Masum.
The DC in his brief speech said, during the corona virus pandemic Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended her hands to cross section of people of the country including, teachers, farmers, physicians and journalists.
