DHAKA, Sept 7, 2020 (BSS)-Bangladesh Awami League has nominated Monirul Islam Monu and Mohammad Anwar Hossain Helal for Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 by-polls slated for October 17.
Ruling party general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader today announced the names of its candidates for the Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 parliamentary seats.
“The party nominated Monirul Islam Monu for Dhaka-5 and Mohammad Anwar Hossain Helal for Naogaon-6 by-polls,” said Quader at a regular press briefing held at his official residence.
He said the candidate for Dhaka-18 will be announced later.
The Dhaka-5 constituency fell vacant following the death of ruling Awami League lawmaker Habibur Rahman Mollah on May 6.
The Naogaon-6 constituency fell vacant following the death of Awami League lawmaker M Israfil Alam on July 27.
Quader urged the party leaders-activists to work unitedly for the party candidates in the by-polls.
