ACC files case against 6 including food godown in-charge for embezzling govt rice

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 7, 2020 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against six people, including officer-in-charge of Kutubdia Baraghop Food Warehouse Palash Paul Chowdhury, for misappropriating government rice in collaboration with each other at Cox’s Bazar.

ACC Assistant Director Ratan Kumar Das filed the case at its Integrated District Office-2 on Monday while Riaz Uddin, assistant director of the ACC Integrated District Office-2, recorded it.

ACC Public Relations Officer (Director) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to the journalists this afternoon.

Riaz Uddin said the suspected persons in the case have been accused of embezzling government rice worth about over Taka 85.25 lakh.

The accused are– Officer-in-Charge of Kutubdia Baraghop Food Warehouse Palash Paul Chowdhury, its cleaner Md. Shahjahan Prakash Mintu, security guard Nizam Uddin, Cox’s Bazar district food controller’s office spray man Md Shahjahan, contractors Dilruba Hasan and Selim Reza.
