Myanmar, Australia trade hit over 11 mln USD in single month

YANGON, July 1, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – Total bilateral trade between Myanmar
and Australia reached 11.9 million U.S. dollars in first month of the six-
month transitional period which started in April, the official Global New
Light of Myanmar reported Saturday.

Myanmar has changed its fiscal year period from original April-March to
Oct-Sept beginning 2018-2019, producing a six-month transitional gap.

The countrys export to Australia amounted to 1.4 million U.S. dollars
while its import value was 10.5 million U.S. dollars in April.

The countrys fisheries and agricultural products are mainly exported to
the Australia while medicaments from veterinary purposes, pigments, paint,
varnish and coal from Australia are imported into the country.

In last fiscal year 2017-2018, bilateral trade between the two countries
amounted to 171 million U.S. dollars.
