Light rain with gusty wind likely

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at most places over the country in the next 24-hour commencing at 9.00 this morning.

“Light rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions, at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Barishal and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at some places over northern part of the country in 24-hour till 9am tomorrow,” said a met bulletin.

Monsoon is active over northern part of the country, less active elsewhere over the country and weak over North Bay, it said.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 35.6 degrees Celsius at Jashore and lowest one today was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 132 millimeters (mm) at Mymensingh .
The sun sets at 6.10 pm today and rises at 5.43 am tomorrow in the capital.
