BCB to start cricketers’ corona test from tomorrow

DHAKA, Sept 6, 2020 (BSS)—The cricketers will undergo the COVID-19 test in three phases, first of which starts tomorrow (Monday) after three supporting staff were tested positive for the deadly virus that left the whole world stranded.

After giving their sample for test on Monday and Tuesday, the cricketers will again give their sample on September 18, before they start the conditioning camp for the Sri Lanka tour.

Before leaving the country, they will undergo a test for the third time on September 22 again.

“We will start the cricketers’ corona test and cricketers will give their sample in the first phase on Monday and Tuesday,” BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan said here today.

“They will give their sample again on September 18 and later on September 22.”

The practice session for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour is scheduled to begin from September 21. After a six-day camp at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, the Bangladesh team will leave the country for Sri Lanka on September 27.

The first Test is supposed to be held on October 24. First two Test matches will be held in Kandy while Sri Lanka’s capital city Colombo will host the third and final Test.
